Hopefully this is just a blip but not the start I was hoping for. I was driving past the field and noticed the dreaded farspagan – Black-backed gulls. A sure sign that there is something wrong. This poor wee lamb’s mother had given birth a week or two early. As you can see, it has been well cleaned, so it’s not a case of the lamb being abandoned. I don’t think it came into the world alive. Not the start I was hoping for and hopefully not a sign of things to come. Lambing due to start properly this Friday.
