The chicks have been in the barn since last Saturday, after their run was damaged in the gale on Friday night. Myself and Innes cleaned things up and made another run for them, which they were put into today.
First up was taking down the old one. Myself and my keen helper took down the chicken wire and netting first of all.
Then we went round to the new one, putting up the wire and making it chick-proof!
They’re 18 weeks old, as of this Sunday, so I should start seeing some eggs from them in the next 2-4 weeks. I think they enjoyed their long weekend indoors so they might be happy to start even sooner!
That’s them outdoors again though. Their new home should keep them happy for a while now!
